Axel Tuanzebe was pictured in good spirits alongside Paul Pogba at Carrington ahead of Manchester United’s second-leg League Cup semi-final clash with Hull City on Thursday night.
The youngster drew praise from Jose Mourinho following an impressive cameo during a 2-0 pre-season win over Wigan Athletic back in July.
He was later included in the 25-man tour squad for the trip to China, but has failed to make a first team appearance this season.
Tuanzebe, who has participated in several first team training sessions this season, was pictured sharing a laugh with Pogba earlier today.
It feels like only a matter of time before Tuanzebe receives the chance he deserves under Mourinho.
The youngster has been flirting with the first team ever since he appeared on the bench for Man United’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace back in October 2015, and anybody involved with United’s youth system will tell you that Tuanzebe, more than anybody else currently waiting in the ranks, deserves a chance to impress at Old Trafford: bold, strong, remarkably quick, constantly vocal and positionally astute.
He is, even the ripe age of 19, a truly sophisticated defender, capable of presenting a physical threat to established Premier League players.
