Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent reveals potential next location from Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola, has revealed that Napoli could be the Swede’s next destination after leaving Manchester United.

The 35-year-old, who arrived over the summer, has netted 19 goals in 31 games so far this season, with his last strike coming against Liverpool last month.

It was confirmed earlier this season that Zlatan would receive a one-year extension on his existing contract at the club, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2018.

But Raiola, speaking earlier this week, noted that United may not be the Swede’s final destination before he calls time on what has been a sensational career.

“Zlatan has always been in love with the city of Naples and [Napoli president Aurelio] De Laurentiis has got to know him, but if Sarri were to behave with Ibra the way he has behaved with El Kaddouri, then it would be better if he just took a nice boat and went fishing,” Raiola said.

“If El Kaddouri has not been playing for Napoli, the only person guilty for it is Sarri,” he said. “He was not a gentleman with him. He never picked him in his Champions League squad and he would tell him that he would play if he renewed his contract, but the contract renewal never arrived.

“We are not glad to be free from Napoli, but we are glad to be free from Sarri, who never believed in the lad. At this point, El Kaddouri has taken a cut in wages because he prefers to be playing for Empoli.”

Zlatan has previously expressed a desire to spend the latter stages of his career at Napoli, highlighting his love of the scenic city as a reason behind wanting to move there.

However, in keeping with the Swede’s serial winning mentality, he chose to challenge himself and moved to Old Trafford instead. It remains to be seen whether he will want to continue fighting at the top after two years in the Premier League, but one suspects that Zlatan – despite his age and bulging trophy cabinet – is still far from finished.
