Axel Tuanzebe has been pictured working hard at Carrington ahead of Manchester United’s Europa League last 32 clash with Saint Etienne on Thursday.
The youngster, after impressing during the early stages of pre-season, was handed a place in the 25 man tour squad by Jose Mourinho.
He was later handed his senior debut by the Portuguese during Man United’s 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fourth round and impressed many with his bold, physical approach.
And Tuanzebe, now a regular at Carrington with the first team, was seen putting in the yard hards in preparation for the clash with Christophe Galtier’s side.
You can sense that Tuanzebe, more than any other youngster currently at United, is on the cusp of something big. Chances in the first team will continue to be sporadic, but if the 19-year-old can take advantage of the game time he does receive then a regular spot in the match-day could be just around the corner.
He certainly has both the technical and physical capacity to mix with the Premier League’s elite: his performance against Wigan was blessed with a palpable sense of control and power; everything looked incredibly natural, almost as if he was just enjoying a game with his friends.
Supporters, no doubt, will be hopeful to see the youngster receive more chances this season.
