Former Croatia midfielder Dario Simic has noted that he could see Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic at Manchester United in the future.
Perisic, who arrived at Inter in 2015, has been a powerful influence at the San Siro this season, managing seven goals in 22 appearances.
And Simic, speaking to Vecernji, was quick to canvass the idea of Perisic moving to Old Trafford at some point in his career.
“I expected Perisic to join one of the big European clubs in the last window,” he said. “He definitely has the class for the biggest clubs. I can see him at Manchester United.”
Perisic forms an integral part of Croatia’s ‘golden generation’ – a group of players blessed with a tantalising mixture of firmness and attacking verve, exemplified most recently at the Euros. They went out in the second round, but anybody who watched them during the group stages could tell that these players weren’t going anywhere over the next few years.
One of those players was, of course, Perisic himself. The Croat, usually deployed out wide, brings both efficiency and individual brilliance to his approach, and his experience across Europe and overall power on the ball would indeed place him in good stead should he ever move to England.
