Manchester United legend Paul Scholes insists Anthony Martial can score 25 goals a season if he’s able to regain his confidence under Jose Mourinho.
The Frenchman has been in and out the starting XI this season as has struggled to re-find his form which saw him finish last campaign as the club’s top goal scorer with 17 goals to his name.
He’s begun to find his feet under Mourinho and hopes are he’s able to maintain his form, especially following a strong return to the team against Watford when he scored one and set up the other in a 2-0 win.
Speaking prior to the game against St Etienne, Scholes believes Martial can be the player to guide United forward.
"He has 25 goals a season in him…"

“We’ve seen that he’s capable of scoring goals, beating players, but we’re not seeing it enough,” he said.
“He’s still a young player, we have to remember that and when you look at wide players they’re always the most inconsistent on the pitch anyway.
“I think that’ll come with him, and if the confidence does come out I think he’s got 25 goals a season in him.”
Martial has showcased his ability time and time again for United and there’s no doubt that he has what it takes to become a top play under Mourinho.
He’s worked hard to fight for his place in the side and hopefully he’ll go on to have a brilliant run of games, as he’s exactly what we need.
