Rio Ferdinand has urged Jose Mourinho to sign Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann and Bayern Munich forward Douglas Costa at Manchester United.
Man United have been heavily linked with a big move for Griezmann in the summer transfer window, as he’s been in fine form this campaign, already scoring 20 goals this season.
They would both be incredible additions at Old Trafford, and as Mourinho has already proven at the club, he has the ability to attract big names without Champions League football to offer, signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.
Speaking about the future of the club, Ferdinand has explained why he’d love to see them at Man United.
“I’d love to see Antoine Griezmann at Old Trafford,” he said. “For four years running he’s scored 20-goals plus for Atletico Madrid in Spain and has genuine class and ability.
“I admire Douglas Costa of Bayern Munich. He’s an electric player with pedigree who is not always in Bayern’s starting line-up and he’d be worth paying big money for.”
He also claimed Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko would be a powerhouse, his team mate Fabinho would be a great addition and listed Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot and Atletico’s Saul Nigue as preferred targets.
Mourinho understands where the team needs to be improved and there’s no doubts he’s already been working on his deals as it’s very unlike the Portuguese boss to leave them until last minute.
