Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola has insisted that Napoli can forget about signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic over the summer.
Uncertainty continues to loom over where the Swede, currently on a one year contract at Manchester United, would find himself next season, with some sources claiming that a move to China could be on the cards.
The 35-year-old has previously remarked that he envisaged concluding his career at Napoli, citing his love for the city and experience in Serie A as the central reasons behind the potential move.
But Raiola, speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, was adamant that such a deal would not take place over the summer.
“Ibra to Napoli? Forget it,” he said.
“Zlatan won’t be in Naples [next season]. This dream won’t come true.”
The Swede has previously made it clear that his future prospects are, wisely enough, contingent on how he feels on both a physical and mental level over the summer.
One suspects, in turn, that Zlatan – a man driven solely by the prospect of winning big trophies – will opt for one of two extremes over the summer: the first being to hang up his boots altogether after concluding that, actually, another season at the highest level would be a strain; the second option would be to once again lead the line at Old Trafford heading into the 2017/18 campaign.
