Jesse Lingard produced an incredible performance in Manchester United’s 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Englishman was back in the starting XI and proved it was a good decision by the Portuguese boss to bring him back in the side as he won the Man of the Match award.
He scored a screamer in the second-half as he ran the ball forward outside of Middlesbrough’s box and thumped an unstoppable effort into the top corner as he was left unchallenged.
Here’s a look at his brilliant statistics from the game.

He was constantly getting the ball forward into attacking positions, utilising his pace and linking up play well, which will be a great indication for Gareth Southgate who included the pair in England’s senior squad for the upcoming international break.
Lingard has often had problems with consistency as he’s not been able to take his performances from Wembley for example and apply himself in the Premier League week in week out.
However, against Middlesbrough he’s proven he’s got it in the locker as a brilliant squad player and I hope to see him in action once again if he’s fit because he was forced off for Anthony Martial in the second-half with a problem.
