Youri Djorkaeff insists Kylian Mbappe should be careful before joining Manchester United or he could end up similar to Anthony Martial.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable campaign and the speculation surrounding his future has only increased after his brilliant performances in Monaco’s last-16 Champions League victory over Manchester City.
He’s attracted interest from Europe’s elite, but reports claim Jose Mourinho is leading the race to land his signature this summer, with Arsene Wenger comparing the Frenchman to Thierry Henry.
Speaking about the situation, Djorkaeff claims Mbappe could have trouble adapting as Martial has this season.
“If I were the PSG president, I would sign him, but I wouldn’t be the only one in for him,” he said.
“He has tremendous potential, he must go to the club best suited for him.
“Look at [Anthony] Martial, when you go to a big club, you have to adapt and discover something else.
“Mbappe must pay attention to all of this.”
Martial enjoyed an incredible debut season in the Premier League this year, but things have slowed down this season as Mourinho looks to get the best out of him, as we previously saw with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
United have allegedly had two world record bids for Mbappe rejected and it’s clear that Mourinho is interested in bringing him to Old Trafford.
