Antoine Greizmann has commented on rumours surrounding a potential move to Manchester United, once again insisting that he is happy at Atletico Madrid.
It was reported last month that the Frenchman was on the verge of completing a move to Old Trafford, with Jose Mourinho supposedly willing to activate his release clause ahead of the summer transfer window.
Griezmann, in response, released a statement in which he made it clear that he was happy at the Vicente Calderon.
And the 26-year-old, when asked again about the links with Jose Mourinho and Man United, produced a frustrated response, once again confirming his allegiance to Diego Simeone.
“It’s always the same question and I now don’t know what to say,” he said.
“I find myself repeating myself and I certainly see myself here. I feel it’s an answer that I’ve given so many times now but that very question is quite tiring.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to feel a bit bad for Griezmann. How many times does he have to tell journalists that, no, he isn’t interested in joining United – or any other club, for that matter – over the summer?
You can sense the weary frustration in his voice. He has made it clear on numerous occasions that he is going nowhere and still has to deal with the same question, over and over again.
It seems as if the only party actually interested in this story anymore is, like normal, the unknowing media. Even Jose Mourinho, who did pin-point the 26-year-old as his main transfer priority earlier this season, has now turned his attentions elsewhere, reportedly opening discussions with AS Monaco over a fee for Kylian Mbappe.
