Manchester United fans were full of praise for Henrikh Mkhitaryan following his display during their side’s 3-0 win over Sunderland in the Premier League.
The Armenian, restored to the starting XI after being benched against Everton, recovered from a disjointed start to produce a mesmerising series of passes all across the pitch.
He put the game to bed with a sweet strike into the far corner less than a minute after half time, taking his tally for this season up to eight goals.
Man United fans didn’t hesitate when it came to lauding the 28-year-old for what was a wonderfully crisp performance.
Considering he made one start in first three months, really impressive Mkhitaryan has eight goals for the season. #mufc

Most definitely haven’t seen the best of Henrikh Mkhitaryan yet. That will come next season, along with Pogba’s best. Two magical players.

Mkhitaryan is easily our best player. What a talent.

Jose Mourinho’s men came out for the second half in a strong but not concrete position. They were a goal and a man to the good, but they needed that one final killer blow to put this game to bed.
And Mkhitaryan needed less than a minute to provide it: picking up the ball on the edge of the box, the diminutive magician feinted, sent Lamine Koné squabbling and sent an inch-perfect strike into the bottom corner. The Stadium of Light was essentially mute after that, not even bothering to boo Ander Herrera, electing instead to sit there in frustrated silence as Mkhitaryan placed himself at the centre of a training ground-esque second half attacking display.
