Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho insists Morgan Schneiderlin forced through his move to Everton in the January transfer window.
Schneiderlin joined Everton as he was frustrated with his lack of game time at Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order underneath the Portuguese boss.
He had only made three Premier League appearances for United in the first half of the campaign but has already made 12 top flight outings for his new club and is enjoying his role under Ronald Koeman.
Speaking about the move, Mourinho confirmed it was not his decision to sell Schneiderlin.
Mourinho said: “We didn’t tell Morgan, ‘We want to sell you’, Morgan asked and said, ‘Please sell me, I want to go and play every game.’”
He’s been successful with 90% of his attempted passes in the Premier League for Everton this season and has been a vital part of their squad as they currently sit seventh in the league.
It’s a shame it didn’t work out for him at United but it’s great that he’s been able to work it out and go on to better things.
