James Rodriguez’s agreement with Manchester United is set to be announced after Real Madrid’s final league match of the campaign against Malaga on 21 May, according to reports.
He allegedly already has an agreement in place and a potential move to Old Trafford will only be declared after his last three matches of the campaign, as he could still have a role to play.
Real will want to keep any move quiet until the Champions League Final against Juventus on June 3 as Gareth Bale is still sidelined with an injury which could force the South American to take the Welshman’s place in the side.
Rodriguez was replaced by Casemiro in the 61st minute of Real’s 4-1 victory over Sevilla at the Bernabeu and he emotionally waved to all four sides of the stadium while he was walking towards the dugout, which has also fueled speculation linking him with a summer move.
Zinedine Zidane has refused to comment on the situation, claiming Rodriguez still has a contract at Real as he wants all of his players to focus on their remaining fixtures.
Reports claim Real are willing to sell Rodriguez if their asking price of €75m is reached.
He impressed at the 2014 Fifa World Cup, but has seen his first-team appearances limited this season and has started in only 13 league games and should he commit to a move to Manchester, then it’s a great start to the summer as there’s no doubting the fact that he could be a top player at United.
