Rio Ferdinand has reacted to Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Southampton in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Jose Mourinho claimed before the match that he’d rather be on the training ground with his team than playing with Southampton as all emphasis is on the Europa League final against Ajax.
The Portuguese boss has been resting his players to keep them fit for the side’s most important fixture of the season in Stockholm and although the result against Southampton was predictable, it didn’t make it any easier to watch the side play poor football at St Mary’s Stadium.
Speaking about the game, Rio was full of praise for the crowd as they stuck behind the players throughout the entire game.
The @ManUtd end making all the noise… supporting the boys till the end! Looking forward to next Wednesday in Stockholm!

All focus is now on the Europa League final as they look to reach the side’s main aim of getting back into the Champions League ahead of next season.
Mourinho has hinted his starting line-up against Crystal Palace, claiming the fact that the result won’t impact anyone’s place on the table, means he has more options to rest key players and it’ll be an incredible game as United players prepare for their most important fixture of the season.
