Jose Mourinho has provided a Manchester United injury update on his players ahead of the last Premier League fixture of the season against Crystal Palace.
Paul Pogba and Timothy Fosu-Mensah will be back in action against Crystal Palace as Mourinho has confirmed they both need minutes on the pitch before the Europa League final against Ajax in Stockholm on Wednesday.
Speaking in his press conference, Mourinho opened up about the situation with his squad.
“Paul is fine. Strong guy. Strong mentality. He is learning how to live after his father passed away but he is strong and he knows that he needs to play next Sunday because he doesn’t play, doesn’t train for a long time and he needs minutes on the pitch. He plays against Palace,” he said.
“Smalling has a problem, a small problem that I think it is no problem for next week, but is a problem fo the weekend.
“Marouane is a question mark. We wait for today’s scans.
“Fosu-Mensah plays Sunday and if the reaction is good he is a new option for the final.”
The Palace clash is set to be eventful with so many youngsters in the squad, and although it’s not an ideal situation, it’ll be a brilliant opportunity for them to pick up some Premier League minutes.
United approach the most important fixture of the season in Stockholm and hopes are Mourinho has all the players in top condition as it won’t be easy.
