Kylian Mbappe has opened up about a potential summer transfer away from Monaco, claiming he will make a decision based on how regularly he will play.
He has attracted interest from Europe’s elite following his incredible breakthrough season with 24 goals across all competitions with Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid registering their interest.
He doesn’t even turn 19 until December but reports claim Man United and Real Madrid have both tabled world-record bids believed to be in the region of £100m for his services.
Speaking about a potential move, Mbappe claims he’ll only move to a club where he is guaranteed playing-time.
“I will make a choice based on my sporting career, and my career is first and foremost, and I am at an age where I need to play, and that will be paramount,” he said.
“I’m not 35 or 36, an age where I have to manage [my body], I still have everything to learn, this year was discovery, and now comes the most important step: Confirmation.
“And I will be the sole decision-maker, and I will not go anywhere I don’t want to go.”
Monaco have said they won’t stand in his way if he wants a move but they’ll be hoping to tie him down for at least another year as he continues his development as a player.
It’s hard to believe he’s still only at the start of his career because he’s already been able to prove himself to the main stage as a world-class talent.
