Jorge Mendes has stopped Manchester United’s potential move for AS Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to reports.
The Portuguese boss was keen on a move for Frenchman and had enlisted Mendes to initiate negotiations as he is already close to Monaco’s board.
However, L’Equipe claims Mbappe’s camp has been left unimpressed with Mendes and is the reason why he won’t be moving to Old Trafford this summer.
He has been massively linked with a move away from Monaco with Europe’s elite all willing to break the world record transfer fee to sign him, however, it is believed that he will stay put this year.
Mbappe is still only 18 and has previously claimed he’s only worried about picking up minutes this season to build on his career and ensure he goes with France to the World Cup in Russia.
Whilst, even Arsene Wenger is pessimistic about Arsenal signing Mbappe it looks like he will be playing for either Real Madrid or Monaco in 2017/2018.
Mourinho has his targets in place and although Mbappe would have been an incredible signing, it’s still a lot of money to commit on such a young raw talent.
