Henrikh Mkhitaryan wants improvement from Manchester United this season as they hope to win their fourth trophy in a year on Tuesday.
Jose Mourinho’s side, as Europa League winners, play Champions League victors Real Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup in Skopje.
The Armenian has highlighted Premier League performances and claims it’s how the club will be judged this season, especially after giving up on the league to pursue the Europa League last season.
Speaking about the side, Mkhitaryan insists top four is not good enough for Man United.
“Being in the top four is not a good result for Manchester United,” he said.
“The result has always been to be in first place, or second minimum.”
United won the Community Shield last August by beating Leicester, they then defeated Southampton in the EFL Cup final and Ajax in the Europa League final.
Mourinho will be looking to kick off the season the right way with a strong showing against Real, to prove the side are ready for the new season.
There’s a big task ahead this year in the Champions League and Premier League but there’s no doubt Mourinho will be ready.
