Ryan Giggs insists he can see Gareth Bale at Manchester United in the future but does not believe it’ll happen this summer.
Jose Mourinho claimed he would do everything to sign Bale if he became available, even stating that he would try to sign him if he didn’t start for Real Madrid in the Super Cup, which he did.
Real chief Zinedine Zidane refused to confirm whether he will stay at the club or not, however, there’s a slim chance that he’ll actually make the Old Trafford switch.
Speaking about the situation, Giggs believes United fans will have to be patient.
“I don’t think it will happen in this transfer window but you can see it happening one day,” he said.
“If Bale ever comes back to England there are very few clubs who would be able to afford him or he would want to play for.
“After Real Madrid only a couple of clubs can really compete for prestige or history.
“That’s why the speculation happens every year but I maintain what I’ve always said, I think he’s happy at Madrid.
“It’s not impossible but he’s playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world and if he’s enjoying himself and playing regularly I don’t see it happening.”
Mourinho said if he played for Real then it would have been the best confirmation that he is wanted, and the situation remains to be seen.
It’s clear that he’s a vital player for their plans and a player of his calibre will only continue to be linked with the biggest clubs in the world.
