Barcelona have entered the race to prize Manchester United target Ivan Perisic away from Inter Milan this summer, according to reports.
The Croatian, who claimed 11 goals last season, has been a figure of interest to Man United all summer but Inter have been unswerving in their negotiation stance: they want a minimum of £45m or a reduced figure with Anthony Martial on loan.
His agent, Fali Ramadani, held meetings with Jose Mourinho earlier this week as the Serie A side edge closer to handing Perisic and improved contract that will see him earn a further €1.5m.
But according to The Express‘ Dan Gibbs, Barcelona have identified Perisic as a potential option in attacking midfield with Borrussia Dortmund and Liverpool proving stubborn over Ousmane Dembele and Coutinho respectively.
Mourinho made it abundantly clear during his press conference ahead of the clash with West Ham United that he was still looking to add a winger to his squad whilst noting he wouldn’t cry if he didn’t get one.
At the time of writing we have 19 days left in the transfer window and, with the domestic season kicking off, no club wants to disrupt the balance by letting a big player leave. This is exactly why Mourinho accepts that making another addition will be hard, perhaps impossible, while Barcelona are being forced widen their net to bring in further reinforcements.
