FC Utrecht take Andreas Pereira on loan from Manchester United – report

FC Utrecht have taken Andreas Pereira on a season-long loan from Manchester United, according to reports.

He had been heavily linked with a move to Valencia as they had been impressed with his performances while on loan at Granada last campaign, making 35 appearances and playing a vital role.

Jose Mourinho allegedly wanted Pereira to stay at Old Trafford and was blocking a loan move to Valencia as there was a place for him in the first-team and it’s surprising to see he’s gone back to the Dutch League.

He climbed through the ranks at PSV’s youth system between 2005 and 2011 and made the move to Man United in 2014, but has only made a handful of first-team appearances.

Pereira played at PSV during the time Utrecht coach Erik at Hag assisted Fred Rutten in Eindhoven and he’ll be looking for more playing time, especially after taking such a leap, with other offers on the table.

Dutch papers such as AD, Telegraaf and VI, tend not to cover rumours so there is definitely something to go off here and it’ll be interesting to see Pereira light up the Dutch league.
