Fenerbahce trying to strike a deal for Marouane Fellaini at Manchester United – report

Fenerbahce are trying to strike a deal for Marouane Fellaini at Manchester United which would see him move next year, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho rates him highly at Old Trafford and it’s clear he’s got a part to play, as we’ve seen him turn down the likes of Juventus and Galatasaray during the summer.

He played an important role last season and the Portuguese boss claimed during the summer that it would have been easier for Galatasaray to sign him than Fellaini because of what he offers the team.

Fenerbahce believe they can convince him to make the move by offering him a starting role which would be an imporvement on what he currently has at Man United, coming on as a super sub.

The Portuguese boss usually introduces Fellaini to help close out games and against Leicester City he made a real difference and closed out the game not by defending, but scoring at the other end to put United further ahead.

Fellaini’s contract with United will end in June 2018 but there’s a slim chance Mourinho will actually allow him to leave, especially at this point in the window where he’ll want his squad to be focused on the job at hand, which is winning the Premier League title and challenging in the Champions League.
