Manchester United have been contacted about the possibility of signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, according to reports.
He said to be desperate to leave the Emirates Stadium and has been linked with Europe’s elite, with just days remaining until the window closes.
The Chilean has been a target for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City all summer as the pair have previously worked together from their time at Barcelona.
The Independent claims he is determined to secure a move and as a result, intermediaries sought United’s stance on the player.
United are expecting a quiet end to the transfer window and a serious offer for Sanchez would be a surprise, especially as they’d have to pay to lure him away from Arsenal and then beat City in the process.
It would be an incredible signing at Old Trafford but there are doubts Arsene Wenger would allow him to make the move after we saw what Robin van Persie went onto achieve once making the switch.
Should Sanchez become available then Mourinho should be in for him as a player who has proven his world class talent, but if not, United have the right players to challenge for the Premier League title this year.
