Manchester United have secured the signing of Arnau Puigmal from Espanyol, the young midfielder confirmed on Instagram.
Puigmal, 16, is a Spanish midfielder who becomes the latest addition to our academy in a big year of change which has seen Ricky Sbragia return to the club as U23s boss.
Speaking about the move on Instagram, Puigmal said: “Very happy and proud to announce that I am a new Manchester United player, a dream come true. It’s time to work, come on Red Devils!”
Puigmal will go straight into United’s U18s squad to play under former Spurs academy coach Kieran McKenna who was brought in to United in the 2015/16 season to replace Paul McGuinness.
Having impressed United’s scouts from a central midfield position, Puigmal’s addition brings a touch of European class to United’s young team which has gone from strength to strengthen under McKenna already.
United’s U18s team boasts a lot of cracking young talent at the moment and bringing Puigmal in is an exciting move, so we will keep on top of his progress. Welcome to United, Arnau!
