Juventus are ready to provide Angel Gomes with an exit from Manchester United should the talented Englishman choose to leave the club.
Gomes, who turned 17 on August 31st, is now permitted to sign a professional contract with Man United, but is yet to do so.
Juventus, who signed Paul Pogba on a free transfer after the Frenchman’s deal at Old Trafford ended while he was a teenager, are following the situation according to CalcioMercato.
However, United are reportedly confident of keeping Gomes at the club in the long-term future.
Relations between the two clubs, United and Juventus, are said to be good, meaning the Serie A champions will not make a move for Gomes unless the England U17 captain pushes to leave the club and makes clear his intentions.
Gomes must be given a new contract as one of the most exciting talents from United’s academy in some years. Playing above his age group for some time, Gomes has been attracting attention since he was 13 or 14 in United’s youth sides.
Now, his talent is well-known, having become the Reds’ first 2000-born player as he replaced Wayne Rooney against Crystal Palace in the final Premier League game of last season.
Most recently, he’s started off his first World Cup campaign in good form, scoring a wonderful free-kick for England U17s in a 4-0 win against Chile after coming on as a substitute in the 62nd minute, when he took the captain’s armband.
Gomes’ ability is unquestionable, and his attitude appears to be spot on, too, with a close circle of friends and family.
