Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku will surely be pleased with his performance vs Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
The Belgian forward put in one of his better shifts of late, singlehandedly grabbing United all three points with his goal in the 1-0 win vs the Cherries.
Eddie Howe’s players put in a stubborn display defensively but were still impressive going forward, coming close to troubling the Red Devils multiple times.
Jose Mourinho’s men weren’t particularly their most creative or efficient selves during a wet evening in Manchester.
A win was desperately needed after the loss against fierce rivals Manchester City and although it wasn’t a hugely encouraging one, it was a necessary one.
Lukaku's game by numbers vs. Bournemouth:
1 key pass
4 aerial duels won

Romelu Lukaku was central to most of Manchester United’s good play with his aerial duels key to the team’s build up.
Without Paul Pogba in the starting XI, United weren’t able to move the ball in a composed manner and the ball was often lofted forward in Lukaku’s direction.
Despite the less appealing style of play, Romelu was able to win his duels well and set his teammates up with plenty of decent passes.
Old Trafford also had the rare opportunity of witnessing him dribble more often than he’s perhaps used to.
The former Everton man completed five dribbles, maybe due to a need to create space for himself whenever a flick on was available.
Ultimately though, the only stat that matters is the one goal he scored as it was the one goal the club needed to win the match and although he didn’t celebrate it too much outwardly, it will surely do him a world of good inwardly.
