Manchester United will challenge Liverpool for Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic if Jurgen Klopp decides to move for the winger in the summer, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho has set his sights on securing a winger this season after the club’s failure to complete a deal for Ivan Perisic.
And according to the Independent‘s Miguel Delaney, United will rival Liverpool if they decide to launch a bid for the 19-year-old over the summer.
Pulisic would provide something United simply don’t have in this moment in time: a proper winger, bursting with flair and a desire to take on opponents out wide. He is extremely athletic, slippery and surprisingly hard to muscle off the ball.
Another obvious incentive comes with the commercial value Pulisic would bring. The teenager promises to be the USA’s first superstar in the sport since Landon Donovan, only in an era with the potential to elevate him far higher than any other footballer from the Land of Trump that has come before.
Just like how the capture of Ji-Sung Park did wonders for the club’s outreach in the East, signing Pulisic would penetrate an area of extreme promise.
Needless to say, United’s board will be keeping a close eye on him this season.
