Alexis Sanchez is edging closer and closer to being a Manchester United player and posted an update on the progress of the deal on Instagram on Sunday morning.
The Chilean was expected to undergo a medical at the club’s Carrington Aon Training Complex on Sunday after agreeing terms with the Reds in midweek. The clubs had been waiting for Henrikh Mkhitaryan to finalise a contract with Arsenal, with the Armenian attacking midfielder going the other way in a rare swap-deal between two major clubs.
Sanchez posted an update on his Instagram story, showing him stepping into a private jet. One can assume he’s on his way to undergo his medical at Carrington.
Looks like Alexis Sanchez is on his way somewhere. IT’S HAPPENING!

The song playing as the forward, who joined Arsenal for £35m from FC Barcelona in 2014, steps onto the jet is ‘No Easy Way Out’ from Rocky IV. A clear message?
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed the transfer was ‘likely’ to happen after his side’s 4-1 demolition of Crystal Palace, which Sanchez was not involved in because “you cannot drive up north and play football at the same time.”
Meanwhile, United boss Jose Mourinho said a deal was “close” and admitted his confidence that it would go through.
Sanchez has also taken to Twitter to share Oliver Holt’s defence of him joining Man United by retweeting the journalist’s tweet in a clear demonstration that a move is very close. An announcement will be expected soon.
However, because both Sanchez and Mkhitaryan are non-EU players, their work permits must be ratified by their new clubs which could delay an announcement until Monday.
