Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is frustrating Manchester United who believe the Frenchman’s representative is at fault for his problems at the club.
The Man United midfielder has been criticised frequently this season despite being one of the club’s top performers and was dropped for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Sevilla.
He was forced on due to injury to Spaniard Ander Herrera against the La Liga in a 0-0 draw, coming on after only 16 minutes, by the symbolic nature of Pogba starting on the bench was still not lost.
The Daily Mail suggest that Jorge Mendes, who represents Jose Mourinho and a number of other United players, is considering attempting to snatch Pogba away from Raiola.
United are reportedly irritated by Raiola’s frequent visits to the club’s Carrington Aon Training Complex and feel that some of the 24-year-old’s issues in Manchester may be down to his agent
Some reports in recent weeks, after initial suggestions of a dispute between Pogba and Mourinho over his best role and position in the side, claimed that Raiola was touting Pogba to Europe’s top clubs with a possible summer exit from Old Trafford on the cards.
Raiola has represented Pogba for some time, and earned him a huge move to United from Juventus in July 2016. It seems unlikely he’d leave his trusted representative for another superagent, but if he was to do so for anyone, it would be Mendes, whose influence on football is even larger than Raiola’s.
