Alan Shearer: There are real signs that Manchester United are back under Jose Mourinho

Alan Shearer has claimed that there are real signs that Manchester United are back under Jose Mourinho, something that fans would be delighted to hear.

The Portuguese manager has certainly steered the ship back onto course for his new club in his two seasons so far, a job both David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal failed to do.

Under the Scotsman United suffered an incredible set-back, going from Premier League winners to finishing in seventh in a matter of months.

Van Gaal dragged the club back to Champions League football but saw his side regress in his second season as they settled for the Europa League.

Mourinho then helped the Red Devils back into Europe’s elite competition and won a few trophies along the way to keep supporters happy.

According to 101 Great Goals, Shearer wrote in the Sun: “There are real signs now under Jose Mourinho that they are on their way back.

“For all the praise that has been lavished on Saturday’s opponents Liverpool and Spurs this season, it is United who will be the best team in the country — after City.

“No, it is not always thrills and spills but it is effective.”

Alan’s words appear to be a hint premature with Jose’s career at Manchester United set to be defined only if he can win the Premier League for them.

Due to the club’s history of success, anything less than the title would not be deemed as returning back to their best.

While the former Chelsea manager is certainly on the right course and is the right man to lead United back to where they belong, it’s still too early to state what the pundit did.

Fans are definitely delighted with Jose Mourinho as he’s improved the club in many different areas and is handling it all quite well.

Another season or two in charge would see the Red Devils be completely shaped in his image and a title should be won by then.
