Former Manchester United man Ruud van Nistelrooy has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo breaking his record of scoring in consecutive games in the Champions League.
The Portuguese fan favourite is still adored at Old Trafford and put in one hell of a shift against Juventus on Tuesday night.
Ronaldo scored twice and assisted once to prove he’s still a top player and far from finished as many tried to claim at the start of the season.
The versatile attacker singlehandedly destroyed an experienced, well organised Juventus team and his second goal in particular will go down as one of the best in history.
It’s not often that a player gets applauded for his effort against the opposition team but that’s exactly what the Juventus fans did after Cristiano’s bicycle goal.
Records are there to be broken, even if they are your own..
Well done @Cristiano ! 👌👏🙏

Van Nistelrooy was the holder of the record before the former United man broke it last night but it was good to see respect between the two legends in football.
The former striker had a troubled history with Cristiano Ronaldo during their time under Sir Alex Ferguson’s management but things have turned for the better since.
With many of the world’s best past and present praising the 33 year old for his effort, it’s clear to see he’s nowhere near declining.
While Ronaldo hardly beats players as he used to with his pace or dribbling, he’s evolved and adjust his game to reserve his energy and solely focus on goalscoring.
After a somewhat slow start to the season, the Real Madrid man now has thirty eight goals across all competitions to destroy claims of him losing his ability.
