Manchester United star Matteo Darmian has admitted he’s happy that Juventus are interested him though he denies any decisions on his future have been made yet.
The Italian international has been linked with the Serie A side since the winter period and reports have heated up of late.
It’s been said that Darmian has already given the green light to the interested club and it’s expected that he will leave Old Trafford.
Initially signed by Louis Van Gaal, the former Torino man has failed to make an impact overall but also struggled to impress Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese manager seems to want to cash in on his player as he looks set to completely overhaul his defence in the summer.
According to Sports Mole, Matteo said to Sky Sport Italia: “I’m living a great experience here in England. I’d say yes to United again. It’s one of the best clubs in the world.
“I won several trophies here but I miss Italy. Let’s see what happens at the end of the season. Now the priority is to end the season in the best way possible.
“Juventus? I have not decided yet. I am happy Juventus are interested in me. Juve are a great club and I am happy for that.”
It’s fair to say Matteo Darmian was never expected to make a huge splash in the Premier League when brought in by Van Gaal.
However, the Dutchman appeared keen on solidifying his defence and saw the no nonsense full-back as a good, cheap option to buy.
Darmian was never expected to be flying down the wing, putting in crosses and beating the opposition defenders but he was expected to defend well.
Unfortunately the versatile defender couldn’t do that either and it seems that Mourinho has seen enough of him to know he doesn’t have a future at the club.
With Juventus clearly interested in Matteo, there are reports that the former Real Madrid manager will use him as a bargaining chip to bring in Alex Sandro who has been a United target for some time now.
