Manchester United will rival Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon if the Championship side decides to cash in on him over the summer, according to reports.
The teenager, who made his debut aged just 16, has continued to make remarkable steps forward this season, serving as Fulham’s most reliable performer and claiming 15 goals in the process.
He has predictably attracted the attention of tops clubs but insisted recently that his goal was to play for Fulham in the Premier League.
But according to ESPN‘s Rob Dawson, United remain interested in Sessegnon, and while Old Trafford chiefs believe he would prefer to stay in London should he leave Fulham, they will nonetheless rival Spurs’ interest with an offer should the Championship club state they are willing to listen to offers in the summer.
Sessegnon would be smart to commit his future to Fulham for another season at least before deciding on his next step. But you get the sense that Premier League clubs will keep a close eye on him over the window if Fulham – currently one point off automatic promotion with two games left – failed to return to the top flight.
He has, after all, demonstrated that he is simply too good for the Championship this season and Fulham, ahead of another season in the second tier, would be wise to cash in on him at a time of such enthusiastic interest from a variety of clubs.
