Manchester United assistant manager Rui Faria set for a managerial job elsewhere: report

Jose Mourinho’s assistant Rui Faria may already be set for a managerial job elsewhere after only recently announcing his intention to leave Manchester United.

The pair have worked together for close to two decades but the latter has finally decided to call it quits in search of putting together his own career.

Faria is said to be interested in becoming a manager but did announce his decision to take a small sabbatical before moving on to a new role.

United have wished him the best and Mourinho has opted against signing a new assistant though he believes Michael Carrick has potential to fulfil that position.

Either way, not only did no one see the assistant leave the man he’s worked with for so long but no one also predicted he’d already be in line for another job.

According to the Telegraph, Rui could already be in line for his next job and first managerial position with Benfica said to be considering offering him the role should they fire their current manager.

The Portuguese club are reportedly weighing up their options as they feel disappointed with their inability to win the league this season.

This could work in Rui Faria’s favour though it may be too soon considering he wanted a break from football for a short while.
