Manchester United have reportedly targeted Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a potential replacement for David de Gea.
The Spaniard has been in fine form for his club this season having won a host of individual awards in perhaps his best year since arriving to Old Trafford.
De Gea has been selected in the PFA team of the year and won United’s player of the year award as well as having secured the Premier League’s golden glove award too.
For all of Jose Mourinho’s criticisms, he knows how to set up a strong defence and whenever that defence has been breached it’s been the former Atletico Madrid man who’s saved the day.
Either way, there have been some concerns over the goalkeeper’s future and his top performances are certain to gather interest from Europe’s best.
According to Sportskeeda, Express have reported is willing to cough up €88m on in-form Marc-Andre should David leave for Real Madrid this summer.
The Spanish club have been consistently chasing the 27 year old and it’s said they’re gearing up to bid for him once more once the transfer window opens.
Though Mourinho and the Red Devils don’t expect David de Gea to leave this season, they’re still keeping an eye on replacements just in case.
