Manchester United star Ashley Young is reportedly set to be named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming World Cup tournament in Russia.
The European nation have qualified for football’s biggest competition on the international stage and it’s set to start next month.
It will be Southgate’s first tournament with England and so he’s made the bold decision to include Young in the squad that’s set to be announced this week.
The winger turned full-back has been impressive this season, going from a back-up option to one of Jose Mourinho’s most trusted players.
The Portuguese manager has even expressed his hopes that Ashley would continue to be a key player for United next season to the dismay of some fans.

Either way, there’s no denying the Englishman’s fine form and so it would be a deserved inclusion for him as he’s managed to turn his career around.
The veteran has successfully converted his role at the club and has experienced a resurrection in his status similar to that of Antonio Valencia.
The former Wigan man was also struggling as a winger at Manchester United a few years ago but managed to turn himself into a defender under Mourinho.
