Manchester United are considering a £30m bid in the summer for Atletico Madrid right back Sime Vrsaljko, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho has been once again over-reliant on the services of Antonio Valencia, who turns 33 in the summer, throughout the season.
His interest in adding a new left-back is well documented, with Juventus’ Alex Sandro reportedly close to a move, but the need for reinforcements on the right hand side is equally strong.
And according to the Daily Mail‘s Simon Jones, Man United have added Vrsaljko, who made 30 appearances this season, to their shortlist of targets ahead of the summer, and would have to lodge a £30m bid to secure his services.
Many supporters have called for Mourinho to bring back Timothy Fosu-Mensah into the fold to share the load at right-back with Valencia next term following an excellent loan spell at Crystal Palace.
He has come on miles at Selhurst Park, attuning himself comfortably to the demands of week-in-week-out Premier League football, but you doubt whether Mourinho fully trusts him.
Vrsaljko, on the other hand, is a player Mourinho has monitored closely since his arrival at Atletico. His mobility and pinpoint crosses would be a welcome addition to an area that, for too long, has felt far too one dimensional in the final third/
