Pat Nevin has claimed that Manchester United target Kieran Tierney would walk into any top Premier League side due to his ability.
The Celtic star has gained interest from Europe’s top clubs due to his performances this season but it’s Jose Mourinho who’s been the one most linked with him.
United have reportedly been searching for a left-back since the winter time with the Portuguese manager said to be unhappy with Luke Shaw‘s displays.
Nevin believes targeting Tierney would certainly work out for any side and he could just be the type of player Mourinho needs.
The youngster is not expected to cost the Red Devils too much should rumours turn into a real bid but it could spell the end for Shaw’s career.
According to the Sport Review, Pat said to BBC Radio 5 Live: “I hope he [Tierney] stays a wee while longer. He would comfortably walk into any top Premier League team and be fine. He is that good.”
The truth is another young left-back isn’t what’s required and instead a proven quality one is the order of the day.
While Antonio Valencia would need the competition of Manchester United bound Diogo Dalot, the other flank just needs a top player to make it their own after years of uncertainty.
Luke was expected to dominate the position for a decade at least when signed but so far has disappointed, failing to hold onto the starting XI spot.
