Manchester United legend Bryan Robson believes Fred’s transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk is a good move because of what he can bring to the team which is mobility and creativity.
The Brazilian was recently announced as the club’s latest signing after finally working through some finer details with some fans even worried it wouldn’t happen at one point.
United agreed a transfer fee with Shakhtar a while ago but took some time to officially announce the deal as Fred’s work permit, medical and personal terms all needed time to conclude.
Thankfully it all worked out for the midfielder in the end and Robson is of the belief that he’s a top player, already pointing out where he can help the side.
Fred is expected to play in a three man midfield alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, forming an engine room that could come up against any of the Premier League’s best.
According to the Sport Review, Bryan said: “I think everybody was saying that we just needed a bit more mobility and a little bit more creativity in that midfield area.
“Fred definitely gives you that. He’s been very good for Shakhtar, so hopefully he can take to the Premier League and do really well for United.”
Jose Mourinho’s move for the 25 year old is believed to be in the interest of getting the best out of Pogba who was made the club’s record signing two years ago.
The Frenchman has played well so far for the Red Devils but there’s the belief that he can step it up a few more levels and so Fred was brought in presumably to help.
