Martial’s agent confirmed earlier this month that his client had decided to leave Man United following a nightmare second half of the season under Jose Mourinho.
Juventus have for some time been favourites to secure the Frenchman’s signature, while United view Sandro as their ideal choice at left-back this summer, rendering it likely that the two clubs will do business with each other.
And according to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, United have valued Martial at a considerable €90m ahead of talks which will also entail the future of Sandro and, surprisingly, Sami Khedira.
Juventus are unlikely to pay the entire amount demanded by United for Martial, but the club, if they are to let him leave, need to be firm about this price. The 22-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in the world, blessed with scary talent and ready to prove himself elsewhere after falling out of favour under Mourinho.
Letting him leave is bad enough. Letting him leave for cheap would be agonising for United fans.
