It has been reported all summer that Martial wishes to leave Manchester United before the 2018-19 season kicks off, and his agent has even come out to confirm that is his desire.
The 22-year-old’s Man United career has quickly turned sour under Jose Mourinho following the arrival of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window, which has heavily affected his game time.
Martial was one of United’s better players in the first half of the 2017-18 campaign which has made Mourinho’s sudden lack of faith in him even more harmful.
It’s no surprise that there are a number of suitors this summer, and the Daily Star claim that Bundesliga giants Bayern have joined the race for his services.
The German champions have reportedly “held discreet talks” with Martial’s representatives in an attempt to lure him to the Allianz Arena.
Other clubs including Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have been said to want the £70m-rated forward, but Martial’s preference is currently unknown.
Bayern’s reported interest wouldn’t come as a shock though, considering current first-team wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are now aged 34 and 35 respectively.
