Jose Mourinho has a plan to land Mario Mandzukic: report

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly has a plan to land Mario Mandzukic as he steps up his efforts to reinforce his side ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Portuguese manager has so far brought in Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant and is expected to make a few more transfers before the window closes.

Mandzukic represents a bit of a utility buy as he could provide back up to Romelu Lukaku and play on the flanks if needed to help United perform more.

Mourinho is said to have been disappointed with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial following their opportunities to lead the line for the club last season in the Belgian’s absence.

Unfortunately neither impressed and the former Real Madrid man is looking to bring in the Juventus star to avoid such a thing occurring once again.

According to Manchester Evening News, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports that Jose is keen on Mario and could use Matteo in a possible swap deal.

Such a transfer could work in the favour of both clubs that are involved but it’s probably going to make negotiations more difficult.

The two footballing giants already can’t see eye to eye on how much Darmian is valued so it’s unlikely bringing in another name to the table will help move things along.
