Manchester United have received some bad news in their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo after reports claim that Juventus have made significant progress with their interest.
News emerged of the Portuguese’s unhappiness at Real Madrid at the start of the summer but there didn’t seem to be any clubs making a serious move for him.
Almost every year Ronaldo hints at a potential departure from the Spanish capital so it appeared as though this was just his annual attempt at getting yet another contract renewal.
However, things started to pick up when Juventus learned that his desire to leave was genuine and so they were the first club to make a real attempt at securing his signature.
Having learnt of the Italian’s serious offer, it seems United wanted to try to bring their former player back to the club but it may be too late.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Independent report that the Red Devils enquired over a possible Cristiano transfer but were told Juventus made significant progress in their bid to sign him.
Though it’s said the world class attacker does have a small part of him hoping he could return to Old Trafford, the Serie A giant’s swiftness in the transfer has seen them get the upper hand.
