Manchester United begin their pre-season preparations at the Aon Training Complex in Carrington on Monday and will be joined Jose Mourinho’s new coaching staff.
The three-man team will be unveiled as former Sampdoria coach Stefano Rapetti, retired Man United midfielder Michael Carrick and last season’s under-18s head coach Kieran McKenna.
Rapetti worked with Jose Mourinho during the United manager’s successful time at Inter Milan and will arrive at Old Trafford following the departure of Mourinho’s long-term second-hand man Rui Faria at the end of last season.
Carrick hung up his boots in May following a silverware-stuffed 12 years at United and was regularly sat in the dugout alongside Mourinho for the latter stages of the campaign as he prepared to take the next step in his career.
McKenna has enjoyed great success at United since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur and is seen as a fresh choice by Mourinho. His knowledge of how to coach the younger players could prove to be pivotal for the development of those currently in the first team set-up such as Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
