Barcelona star Samuel Umtiti was full of praise for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba ahead of France’s World Cup final showdown against Croatia.
Les Blues had to beat the likes of Argentina, Uruguay and Belgium to reach the tournament’s final and are just one step away from the ultimate trophy.
Pogba has been outstanding for his country so far in the competition and has received praise for things he’s not normally associated with such as discipline and defensive responsibility.
His ability to dictate play was never in doubt but he’s excelled in a France side that have been known to be more pragmatic than in recent history.
Umititi though decided to laud Paul’s leadership skills instead and recognised how he’s developed within the World Cup games itself.
Umtiti on Pogba: "I've known him for several years, he has always been a leader, he has it in him. He is very influential in the group. His game has evolved during the competition. He was able to challenge and helped the group to move forward.” 🇫🇷 #mufc [RMC]

Samuel was once linked with a potential move to the Red Devils himself and there’s no doubt fans would’ve loved Pogba to be influential in that decision too.
Unfortunately the defender renewed his contract with Barcelona and was using the club’s name in a bid to scare his own club into extending his future.
Had the colossal centre-back moved to Old Trafford he would’ve certainly walked right into Manchester United’s starting XI with ease.
