Manchester United fans have reacted to Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof’s performance vs Bayern Munich, revealing their delight with the pair.
It was the first time the two feature alongside each other from the start of a match in a back four and there were clear signs a solid partnership could be developed.
United lost 1-0 to the German champions but it was mostly due to a toothless attacking display than a shaky defensive performance.
Lindelof and Bailly complimented each other well alongside with their good shifts with the pair both capable defenders on the ball.
The Red Devils could certainly do with an established first choice defence and the two could very well have given Jose Mourinho a headache.
Can't get enough of Eric Bailly. Really hope he stays fit throughout the season. Manchester United need him. Hope to see his partnership with Victor Lindelöf flourish in the future, but the addition of Toby Alderweireld is needed in the short term.

Our best CB partnership is Bailly & Lindelöf and Mourinho didn’t play then once together last season. They’ve been fantastic tonight thus far.

Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have been partnered for 21 minutes and they’re already showing promising signs.

Eric Bailly is just class isn’t he?

No surprises that we concede as soon as Bailly goes off. A commanding player who dominates that box from set pieces. Easily our best defender.

There’s been plenty of talk on Manchester United signing Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld or Bayern’s Jerome Boateng who are expected to walk right into the starting XI.
Perhaps Jose will be tempted to see whether his first two centre-back signings in Victor and Eric can actually form a defensive partnership or not.
The likelihood is though that the Portuguese manager will still look to sign a short-term option in one of the aforementioned names to give the backline some leadership.
