The reason for Anthony Martial‘s absence from Manchester United’s clash with Bayern Munich has been revealed after much speculation.
The Frenchman was said to have rejoined with the squad following the difficult birth his partner had that kept him out of previous pre-season fixtures.
Martial had left United’s tour of the United States of America due to his daughter’s birth but apparently upset Jose Mourinho for failing to return right away.
The issue sparked new rumours that the former AS Monaco man would be on his way out of the club despite there being less than a week of the transfer window left.
Anthony’s absence from last night’s loss to Bayern didn’t help the situation either but it’s now all been cleared up.

Another example of a player not involved in the final pre-season match of the summer is none other than Jesse Lingard.
The Englishman perhaps trained alongside Martial back at Carrington which makes sense since it wouldn’t have made sense to bring either of them to Germany just for the day.
The pair aren’t necessarily match-fit and would be better off training and preparing for the first fixture of the Premier League season on Friday against Leicester City.
