Axel Tuanzebe set to be loaned out to Aston Villa: report

Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe is set to be loaned out to Aston Villa ahead of the new season according to reports.

The central defender is highly rated by Jose Mourinho but it’s a position the club is well-stocked in for the upcoming campaign.

Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof and Marcos Rojo make up the current senior options for United.

However, there’s also been plenty of talk of Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld potentially sealing a transfer before the window slams shut this Thursday.

That would throw Tuanzebe even further down the pecking order and he surely wouldn’t be expected to be given enough minutes.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Sun report that Axel will return to Aston Villa on a season long loan deal to help with his development.

The Englishman was on loan with the Championship club for the second half of the last season but only played five matches as he was ruled out with injures.

However, he must’ve done enough to convince Villa to bring him back once again and there’s hopes he can stay fit this time around.

Tuanzebe was part of the young squad Mourinho took with him to the States and the youngster certainly impressed the majority of fans.
