Manchester United have offered Inter Milan the chance to sign Juan Mata this summer, according to reliable journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Mata has enjoyed a successful pre-season with Man United but is no longer a starting option under Jose Mourinho, who prefers the attacking midfield duo of Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard.
Inter are currently working on a deal to sign Luka Modric from Real Madrid but remain intent on signing another attacking player this month.
And according to Sky Italia‘s Di Marzio, United have proposed the sale of Mata to Inter as Jose Mourinho continues to search for reinforcements in attack this summer.
Perhaps Mourinho, who still wants another attacker as the deadline draws nearer, is tempting the San Siro side into finally selling him Ivan Perisic – a player he enthusiastically pursued last summer and praised during the World Cup.
But the Croat, who signed a new deal with Inter last year, looks set to stay put by all accounts. Either way, United only have a matter of hours to get any deal done before the transfer window closes and they have their hands full as things are, with central defence remaining the main area of concern for the boss.
