Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery has urged his teammate and Manchester United target Jerome Boateng to remain at the club.
The defender has emerged as a target of Jose Mourinho’s according to reports but only has less than 48 hours to complete a move.
The summer transfer window slams shut this Thursday for Premier League clubs meaning United will have to move fast to get their man.
Boateng would address a position that reportedly Mourinho has been chasing to address all summer long with nothing to show for it.
Ribery though believes the German shouldn’t be tempted with a move away from Bayern and is hopeful his teammate stays this season.
According to Goal, Franck said: “I’ve been playing with Jerome for many years now. I hope he’ll stay with us because he’s an important player.
“To me, he’s one of the best central defenders in the world.”
Jerome does seem to be a strange target of the Red Devils’ since he’s injury prone and since there must be a reason why Bayern consider him expendable.
Jose must avoid making the same mistake and focus on getting his true target that is Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgian has Premier League experience, is a proven leader and will add definite quality to Manchester United’s squad.
